Shiny Disco Ball with Neighbour LIVE at GLC

March 9th - Shiny Disco Ball with Neighbour for KosmiK's 20th

Garibaldi Lift Co. (GLC), Whistler BC

About twenty years ago, Marie Fortin was organizing her first event called Ravevolution in her hometown Chicoutimi under the KosmiK brand. The name had come to her while dancing at her first rave in Quebec City and she wanted to share what she had experienced. Shortly after, Marie moved to Whistler. In 2004, she founded Hilltrip to organized events and offer social marketing services based out of Whistler. It was not until 2008 that KosmiK was used again to host events, with the Big Bang Winter Solstice Celebrations among other productions such as Frequency Fridays, Elevate and BallistiK Jam. It’s only in 2009 that Marie started to DJ and use Miss KosmiK as her alias. Since then, Marie KosmiK has played many clubs and festivals.

To celebrate the occasion, KosmiK is bringing NEIGHBOUR, one of Canada’s top house and disco producer who will be performing LIVE set with his electric guitar on Thursday March 9th at the GLC. With an ever evolving style and a commitment to the science of good sound, Neighbour's approach to dance music has universal appeal.

Marie was first introduced to Neighbour at her first Shambhala in 2009. That year Neighbour had performed a legendary set with live synthesizer and live guitar at the top of the Pagoda Stage wearing red spandex overalls and she had made her war to the top to see him. She has been a fan ever since.

On top of being an awesome DJ/Producer, Neighbour is owner of Homebreakin Records, co-curator of Body Language’s events at Vancouver's legendary Beaumont Studios and founder of Kiklo Music, a music production Studio in Vancouver which co-produced and mastered an album with Rob Garza of Thievery Corporation.

For the Shiny Disco Ball, you can expect Neighbour to play his electric guitar over original productions, remixes, and edits which range from underground house, to classic techno, disco and futuristic dance music. Opening sets by Miss KosmiK and guests.

At the event, a photo booth will be setup with Rich Glass Photography. Attendees are encouraged to wear funky shiny outfits and get their photo taken at the booth to create fun memories.

Advanced tickets to the Shiny Disco Ball featuring Neighbour Live can be purchased at the Garibaldi Lift Co (GLC) or online at www.whistlerblackcomb.com/shinydiscoball for only $10. At the door it will be $15 to get in until we reach capacity.
